1. Introduction

KissRunning ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Sparrowbase. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable data protection laws.

This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Email address — collected when you sign up for the waitlist or create an account.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • IP address — used temporarily for rate limiting and spam prevention. Not stored permanently.
  • Analytics data — we use privacy-friendly analytics (Umami) hosted at stats.kissrunning.com. This data is aggregated, does not track individual users, and uses no cookies.

2.3 Third-Party Services

  • Cloudflare Turnstile — used for bot protection on the signup form. Cloudflare may process limited technical data. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
  • Mailgun — used as our transactional email service. Your email address is shared with Mailgun to deliver confirmation and waitlist emails. See Mailgun's Privacy Policy.

2.4 Garmin Connect Data (Future)

When we launch, KissRunning will integrate with Garmin Connect. If you choose to connect your Garmin account, we may access:

  • Activity data (distance, duration, pace, heart rate)
  • User profile summary (display name, unit preferences)

You can disconnect your Garmin account at any time, and request deletion of your Garmin data.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To manage your waitlist registration and send launch updates
  • To provide and improve our running training platform
  • To protect against spam and abuse
  • To communicate with you about service updates

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

4. Artificial Intelligence

KissRunning does not currently use AI or automated decision-making to process your personal data. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and notify affected users.

5. Legal Basis for Processing

  • Consent — when you sign up for the waitlist or connect third-party services.
  • Legitimate interest — for security, spam prevention, and service improvement.
  • Contract — to provide the service you signed up for.

6. Data Retention

  • Waitlist emails — retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
  • Account data — retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
  • Garmin data — deleted when you disconnect your Garmin account or upon request.
  • IP addresses — not stored permanently; used only for real-time rate limiting.

7. Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Erasure — request deletion of your personal data.
  • Restrict processing — request that we limit how we use your data.
  • Data portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Object — object to certain types of processing.
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw your consent at any time.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including HTTPS encryption, secure data storage, and access controls.

9. Third-Party Data Sharing

We only share your data with the following services, solely for the purposes described above:

  • Mailgun (email delivery)
  • Cloudflare (bot protection)
  • Garmin Connect (activity sync, when connected by you)

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third parties.

10. Children's Privacy

KissRunning is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by email or by posting a notice on our website. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
